First time to see an aesthetician for an IPL , which I had no idea how I would do. Alexa was great she was so caring and kind. Made sure I was doing okay. I made it through with her patience and kindness. Called me the next day( her day off) to see how I was doing. Great experience. I felt confident in everything she prepped me for. Thank you, Diana
Absolutely love the dr that see!!! She is amazing I would recommend the Dr's all day long. The front desk staff and nurses I would not. They are the worst. The first time I went to this Summerlin office I made an appointment online. Let me just start with I HAVE BEEN TO THIS BUSINESS BEFORE. Not this location but I have been to LV Skin & Cancer with the SAME insurance. The day of my appointment I get a message on my phone that I needed a referral and they were going to cancel my appointment. (I was on a zoom call so I couldn't pick up the phone) This message was EXACLY ONE HOUR before my appointment. Who calls you 1 hour before your appointment to tell you that you need a referral and then just cancels your appointment. EVEN though you know you don't need a referral. So I call my GP and I actually get a referral and show up to my appointment. When I get there the front desk staff, after arguing with me for a while, tells me that I have the WRONG type of referral. How in the world am I suppose to know the difference between referrals when my job is not working in a medical office AND I DON'T NEED ONE TO BEGIN WITH! So.... after about 45 mins of this and calling my GP and then passing the phone back to the front desk staff I ended up having to reschedule. Fast forward to the next appointment. I call the day before to make sure they have everything... the woman on the phone says YEP! We have your referral. I verify multiple times... I say "you have the CORRECT referral... she says YES. Still not feeling great about this I call my GP and ask if she sent over the correct referral..... STILL KNOWING I DON'T NEED A REFERRAL... She says that she has tried 3 times and the computer will not accept it. So, she says come by the office and pick it up and just bring it with you. The next day I pick it up, head to my appointment. Get to the office and sit down. I'm there for 2 mins and called up and asked for a REFERRAL.... about ready to loose my mind I hand over another piece of paper. Again she says to me this is not the correct referral. I look at her and she finally says, "I will call your office." I just say, "good idea". I sit in the waiting room for about 45mins while she is working on it. Then she comes out and says, "I'm going to call your insurance company" and I say; "good idea" and I sit there for another 45 mins. Finally after 2 appointments and 2 hours of waiting in the waiting room she comes out hands me a piece of paper that says "no referral, no pre-auth needed" and it has an ID number on it. She just says turns out you don't need a referral..... UMMMM Finally get in to see the Dr. and she ended up doing a biopsy and it turned out to be pre-cancerous. AGAIN I love the DR!!!! Follow up appointment! I get there and check in... 8:30 around 9am I go back up to the desk to ask if there's anything else I need to do to check in because people who have just come in have been taken back. She looks me up, says nope you're good, then gets up goes into the back and 20 seconds later the nurse comes to get me. Clearly forgot about me sitting there and when I ask did you forget about me? She makes up some lie about the Dr. having an emergency when I could see the Dr walking back and forth the whole time I was in the waiting room. I'll be back again in January, with a referral in hand, just incase.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a really frustrating experience with the front desk at Las Vegas Skin & Cancer Clinics. I initially had a minor surgical procedure done by Brittany, who was absolutely wonderful. I have zero issues with her care. However, since the procedure, I’ve been coming in for follow-ups due to some post-surgery recovery issues. Unfortunately, dealing with the front desk, especially an individual named Kelsey, has been extremely disappointing. I’ve tried emailing and calling for weeks to get a follow-up appointment or a referral to a specialist because my recovery hasn’t been going as expected. I clearly explained the urgency of my situation. Unfortunately, Kelsey was dismissive, even rude, and showed no intention of understanding the urgency. She essentially brushed off my concerns and told me she couldn’t get me in until late January. When I tried to emphasize the situation politely, she became increasingly unprofessional, accused me of being rude (which was not the case—I kept my composure), and then actually hung up on me. It’s really disappointing to be treated this way, especially when you’re dealing with a medical issue. I hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously and addresses the level of professionalism at their front desk.
As a new patient, my experience at this office was disappointing from start to finish. I didn’t feel welcomed or valued at any point during my visit. Despite it being a slower day, there was no effort to make me feel comfortable or appreciated. Two issues stood out during my visit. First, when I asked about the cost of a procedure during checkout, the staff member responded as if my question was unreasonable. She told me she wasn’t responsible for billing or insurance and that I’d need to contact my insurance company directly for a cost estimate. I’m over 50, and typically when I ask for cost estimates, providers can either give me an idea or follow up with a quote later. Instead, she just handed me a list of codes to pass along to my insurance. The second issue was with my eczema prescription. I was supposed to be prescribed a cream, but somehow the nurse forgot, and I left the office without it. Given these experiences, I won’t be returning for my procedure and will seek care elsewhere. My daughter also used to go here, but after seeing how poorly I was treated, she won’t be coming back either.
My experience was a little chaotic initially. I scheduled an appointment about two weeks in advance. However, my appointment was cancelled and rescheduled within 15 minutes of my appointment time via phone call and redirected across town to a different office. Maybe there was some internal miscommunication and misunderstanding about my appointment. Although there was a good explanation for this, it would have been great to have a "heads up" about the situation well before I arrived to your facility. Nevertheless, your clinical network handled this issue with charisma and class. I received a well-deserved and sincere apology. Then I was assigned the same day to Dr. Stevens, who was very kind and considerate to my issues. He and his support staff were very personable and seemed genuinely concerned about my concerns. As a person who have met an extensive amout of various people through my travels, I can say that the atmosphere at the facility was very comfortable and accomodating to a concerned patient. Even though we (your professionals vs myself) were from different societal groups, it always seemed like a professional doctor-patient relationship. I truly believe that my misunderstanding was an honest mistake, thus I look forward to visiting Dr. Stevens and his support staff at his new location.
My wife and I first started as patients at LVSCC in the 90's on Rancho Blvd. As they have expanded we have used their services at different sites depending on what was convenient to us. One thing has stayed the same, the professionalism of their staff and caring doctors. Always attentive to our needs they are our only choice in skin care.
I just came in for a skin check knowing I had a few suspicious spots. I walked out the door 32 minutes later, completely finished and happy as a clam. The staff up front Samantha, Crystle, Kim, and Ana were friendly and welcoming, upon my entry. Eye contact is such an underrated thing, but these girls all looked at you in the eye and listened when you spoke. They were truly just friendly with me. What a sweet start. Kelce walked me back and had a little conversation with me that alleviated some nervous fears. I appreciated her natural ease with me and her incredibly calm demeanor. Dr. Ahrendes was kind as usual, and thoroughly checked me out, finding a few more spots that I never noticed. She was informative when she spoke to me and let me know what to expect and when to recheck. Not my first visit with her and won’t be my last either. I haven’t met my deductible yet, which means I was bracing myself for the bill. So, I had to pay out of pocket for services rendered. I paid my co-pay, and then only $53 for freezing off any concerning spots. That was way less than I thought the bill would be. This place is fast, friendly, and fairly priced. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.
