Great Expressions Dental Centers - Largo

As someone who in the past has dreaded going to the dentist, I just want to say how happy I am with my experience with the kind and friendly staff at Great Expressions in Largo. The dental assistant who gave me my x-rays was wonderful, and the hygienist was thorough, efficient, and gentle with my cleaning. Thanks for all you do!

Must say one of the best dentist I’ve been to! Very clean, professional staff very friendly. Got an appointment quick for being a newbie. Highly recommend to anyone out there looking for a dentist!

Today was my first time visiting Great Expressions. The staff is very professional and friendly. Did not have to wait too long. Overall the experience was a very positive one. Very clean office

My experience with the staff and Dr.Hagerty was so pleasant.I was so nervous since I haven’t had a cleaning in a few years but Jenn was so reassuring.So before i knew it she was finished n it was time to go.Oh , btw they even offer financing if you qualify!I would have to recommend Great Expressions for sure.

Apparently, many of us agree that this place is horrible, unprofessional, and all they want is to take your money. I came to this place because the wonderful office I've been going to for over 10 years didn't work with the insurance company I had, so I ended up receiving services from this dentist. Although the insurance says it's a free cleaning every 6 months, this hygienist says insurance companies aren't dentists, that everyone needs a dental cleaning every 3 months, and that it costs $80.00 every 3 months. My previous dentist, whom I went to religiously every 6 months and never had any problems, always went and got my required cleaning. This hygienist told me I needed a deep cleaning for almost $700, even though the insurance says it's free. I said I wasn't going to do it and that I just wanted my regular free cleaning, which they refused to do. They then tried to convince me and told me they checked my insurance and that I now had to pay $275. In the end, I did, and they didn't do anything different than my previous dentist for my regular cleaning. Afterward, they wanted me to come back so they could pull some of their plans to get even more money out of me, but of course, I won’t go back to this dentist. I switched insurance plans to a more expensive one so I could return to my old place, which I love. I happily received my free cleaning again, and they always compliment me on my good oral hygiene and excellent teeth. A week ago, I received a letter from this disgusting place saying I had to pay about $230 more for the deep cleaning they did because my insurance didn't cover it. That's really not my problem or my job. It's their job to bill my insurance, not me having to keep calling them about it. My advice is to stay away from these unprofessional and bad-service dentists; they just want to take your money, nothing more. I will NEVER return to this horrible place.

This place is a scam. I would love to give them negative stars. Office manager is worthless. I have insurance but they charge double or triple the price of what insurance states I owe. When I question them, they tell me insurance never sent us any info... same excuse and it's all lies. I even had insurance call office to work things out but office manager won't get on the phone. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. All they do is up charge and have financing signs in the waiting room. Response from owner 2 weeks ago below is a joke as well .... they reached out, I sent them my contact info and they never called!

Always a struggle to pay for appropriate services when I visit for cleanings. Always adds services not covered by insurance. When you indicate it's not a necessary item, they indicate it's part of their procedure and Great Expessions who require it. This is because Great Expressions is company and not an independent dentist. I've been a patient since the 1980's and once Dr Haltunian (independent dentist) retired his place switched to a company which means they get paid for additional services not required by your insurance so it's all about the money $$$$. Have a backmolar that was always slated as a watch by Dr. Haltunian to be filled but the dentist here won't due a fill and immediately wants to do a crown. Again all about the money $$$.
