Shaolin Temple Traditional Kung Fu Culture Center

I have been learning Shaolin traditional kung fu with Shifu for more than 6 years with my son. I have always looked forward to my weekly classes here: the camaraderie, the workout, and the feeling that you walk away always learning something new. Shifu is really a master himself in Shaolin kung fu and he offers both discipline and encouragement. He serves as a great role model by demonstrating how to perfect every move and to maximize our effort in each practice. The fact that I am still taking the class even after my son has left for college is testimonial to how much I enjoy these classes.

Wonderful experience for my 7-year old son Jalen. Over a year of practice with Shifu, he has become physically much stronger and willing to challenge himself for tougher tasks, such as kick boxing. Shifu is very nice but also strict on students, a teaching style which we like so much. We would love to recommend the Shaolin Temple Traditional Culture Center to any families whose kids want to learn and be strong.

My 3 kids have been taking lessons here for the last few years. It is a wonderful school. The teacher is a monk from China - he is extremely patient and the students learn so much. He does not do this for profit, he does it because he cares about passing on kung fu skills. My daughters have poise and balance and confidence - and Strength - they are so impressive in their skills thanks to Shaolin Temple Kung Fu school.

Shifu is an amazing teacher---he teaches all ages from adults to children... and all levels, too! You can come in as a complete beginner or come as an "expert" and Shifu will have something to teach you. Since coming here I've watched myself develop dexterity, strength, and agility... and I've watched my daughter develop more self-discipline and been continually encouraged to grow. This isn't a cookie-cutter place, Shifu teaches with a passion-- and it's contagious!

Shifu Shi Yan Ruan is one of the best martial art instructors I have ever met in my life. The students can feel his heart and see his skills on the training floor. As a genuinely kind-hearted person, he can always encourage and play with your children. 15 years of training 8 hours a day in Shaolin temple in China bring his movements to the level of Mr Jackie Chan. He carries on his shoulders the mission of continuing and preserving the cultural art of Shao Lin Temple in the States. If you want to have the experience of authentic Shao Lin kung fu in America for you and your family, you have to pay a visit to this treasure school.

Shi Yanruan's enthusiasm will make a Kung Fu warrior out of you! 🥋 The volunteer leaders are wonderful here as well. When I catch the end of kids classes they are always laughing, grinning, and giggling with each other. Good energy. Hard work. Always fun!! And I promise, even if you feel unsure of going, the positive energy and invigorating workout experience alone is totally worth giving it a try)

This is the ideal place to learn kung fu and develop one's fitness levels. The training is as rigorous as one makes it and there is no limit. I have been training here for just over 6 months and have already greatly improved my strength, flexibility, awareness, concentration, and motivation. Shifu always gives the best instruction on how to improve my postures and movements so it is easy to learn from him when I put my mind and heart into his teachings. The director is very kind and is always available to answer questions and help translate Shifu's more complicated teachings. I highly recommend paying them a visit to learn about their free lesson to experience it firsthand.
