Oxnard College

📚At Oxnard College, I studied ESL (English as a second language). In general, the buildings are beautiful and the classrooms are well-equipped. 📱The library provides free books and iPads for students. ‼️However, opinions about the teachers vary. I have never encountered a worse teacher than German Bermudez! ⛔️He is very arrogant, unfriendly, and the atmosphere in his class is always tense! ❌He speaks with a strong Latin accent, and he never explains new words. He always speaks quickly, and he gives strict deadlines for homework that you can't complete (on an iPad), which other teachers don't do. 👎As I was informed, he used to be a student and now he's a tutor, which is why he has a sense of grandeur. I am very disappointed that the college doesn't have control over who they hire… ☝️Additionally, I would like to recognize the most excellent teacher in this college, Patricia Viveros! ❤️She always smiles, jokes with her students, and is very helpful in explaining new words!👩🏼‍🎓👨‍🎓 Her lessons are easy and fun, and the atmosphere is friendly! She is a great teacher with a lot of experience and a kind heart! ✨Her teaching methods make it easy to understand and learn English! I would recommend her as the best teacher ESL in Ventura County! 📖🇺🇸🫶🫶🫶

Oxnard College Academic Guidance Counselor Ms. Jennifer Ruppert is truly one of a kind. She is one of the most genuine, caring, and supportive individual I’ve had the pleasure of working with. She approaches her role with such grace and elegance, making every interaction feel thoughtful and meaningful. Ms. Ruppert wholeheartedly cares about her students—not just academically or professionally, but personally as well. Her encouragement and unwavering support have made a lasting impact on my journey. Oxnard College & VCCCD are incredibly fortunate to have her.

Oxnard College is a welcoming and supportive place for students. The campus is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of space to study, relax, or connect with others. The professors and staff are knowledgeable and genuinely care about student success, making classes engaging and accessible. There are also great resources available, from the library to student services, which help make the college experience smooth and positive.

GREAT School. If you want to come take a few classes. This is the best place for you

THE COLLEGE DAYCARE NEEDS INVESTIGATION. I came to the college daycare unannounced and got in because of a door left open. I waited for a while at the front and after a while a man which I believe is the supervisor came from the children’s back room agitated fixing his pants stating that he had to put some toddlers to sleep because the teacher had gone to break. It was very weird he seem very nervous. This daycare should be investigated

I chose to register for classes at Ventura College because of a post Oxnard College put on their Instagram honoring a student for their degree and he was visibly full erect in the photo. It made your entire school look stupid and pathetic. I contacted school staff and the post is still up. When I raised the concern to the Oxnard College Instagram I was blocked. Don't attend Oxnard College. Ventura College is professional and appropriate. Enroll there instead if you want a safe environment.

What Oxnard College lacks in funding, staffing, and other resources, it makes up with passionate educators. As a student with a non-traditional educational path, this college has allowed me flexibility and encouragement, helping me on the path to an associate's degree. Mr. Bollinger, Dr. Frehlich, Coach Elsa, Coach Sharp, and Ms. Flores and Mr. Alas in financial aid and counseling (and I'm sure many others) all deserve recognition for going above and beyond as educators!
