I've been coming to shanya in Chinatown, Chicago for the past year and they never disappoint. The shop is clean, modern, and the staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming. I've gotten my haircut from several of the stylists here and they all do an amazing job. They really listen to what you want and provide great recommendations. The cuts are always precise and leave my hair looking fresh and styled perfectly. The prices are also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work. A basic men's haircut is only $23, which is a steal compared to many other salons in the area. In addition to the great haircuts, the overall experience at is just pleasant and comfortable. The owners clearly take pride in running a top-notch establishment. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an awesome haircut in Chinatown, Chicago. It's easily the best barber shop I've been to in the city.

I stopped by to get a haircut. I did not have an appointment as it was an impromptu stop. They were able to accommodate me in immediately. Good haircut and I also had wash as well. Reasonably good prices! For male it was $22 for haircut + wash + dry airblow. The place itself was constantly busy so maybe I was lucky - get an appointment just to be safe

I came here as the other salons in Chinatown had some wait time. This place isn't listed anywhere online, at least not in English, but I've walked past whenever I get takeout in the basement food court of Richland Center. The hairstylist did a great job and took his time! I'm very satisfied, especially for the same $18 price as a cut at Hair Cuttery. He also did a great job working around my face mask. Consider checking this place out for good bang for the buck.

I walked in and they took me immediately! I showed my hairdresser a picture of the haircut I wanted and he gave me exactly what I wanted. He was fast too! I walked in and out in 20 minutes. The prices are fantastic! Women’s haircuts are $24. Please leave a generous tip if you have the means! They’re friendly, skilled, and time-efficient.

Went in on a whim for the first time, and I received a wonderfully clean cut! I highly recommend bringing a reference photo, and it also helps that I have extremely basic Mandarin skills since none of the barbers were fluent in English. They were very accommodating and friendly, and I ended up paying a reasonable $22 for quick, solid service with a wash included. Will go again!

As someone with super straight, spiky hair I figured chinatown would be the best place to handle my situation. And I was 100% right. This place is competent and fast. I walked in and out in 20 min (granted it was a Tuesday afternoon). The cut comes with a wash I guess? Either way, it was great and I will only be coming here from now on. I don’t speak Chinese so we had to use pictures, gestures, and google translate, but it was painless to get on the same page as long as each side has a little patience.
