First time visiting this salon. My daughter and I came in as walk-ins. Waited less than 15 minutes. We were called back by Mary. She was so friendly, and did such a wonderful job on our haircuts. We will definitely be back
I went in for a haircut on April 19, 2025, expecting a simple trim. I had long, beautiful hair that I loved, and I specifically told Kika I only wanted an inch or two taken off to clean up the ends and a few very long layers. My exact words were "KEEP THE LENGTH." Instead, she chopped off at least 8 inches, completely ignoring what I asked for. She started my shortest layers at 6 inches. To make things worse, the style she gave me is just awful—uneven, choppy layers that look nothing like what I wanted and don’t suit my hair at all. I ended up with a full on shag cut. I left the appointment in tears, heartbroken over losing so much of my hair and stuck with a cut I hate. It’s going to take months, maybe years, for my hair to grow back to the length I had, and I’m devastated. I have asked several other stylists who say there is nothing that can be done other than to let it grow out now. When I told Kika how upset I was, she was rude and didn’t even seem to care, which made the whole experience even worse. This wasn’t just a small mistake—it was a total disregard for what I wanted and a lack of skill in delivering a decent haircut. I’d warn anyone considering Kika to stay far away unless you want to risk a similar disaster. I’m now trying to figure out how to fix this mess, and I’ll never go back. I hope this review saves someone else from going through what I did.
**DO NOT GO TO MARY MURAS. Let me preface this by saying that the rating I’m leaving is a reflection of Whitney and Celene, not Mary. I booked with Mary on 03/25/25 to get a partial balayage done on my hair. This was my first time getting my hair done professionally. She assured me we did not need to do a consultation because it would be an "easy process". When I initially left the salon, I thought my hair was pretty because it was curled and styled. However, once I was able to take a look at my hair without styling, I realized that I ended up with chunky highlights all the way up to poorly blended roots, nothing like what we agreed to do over text and definitely not a balayage. When I returned for her to adjust my hair, she just dyed everything back to my natural color. When I explained to her in detail why I was upset about my hair and requested a refund, she became defensive and accused me of criminal intent and attacked the integrity of my character. She then threatened to "prosecute" me if I were to dispute the charges with my credit card company. I saved up for several months, and paid her a total of $304.48, to treat myself to something nice. For her to deny any wrongdoing and refuse to take accountability for services not rendered as agreed upon, was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. She essentially told me to fix my hair myself, and let the color "fade over time"… after I paid her $300. Crazy. She left me with plain hair that was over-processed and experiencing breakage just with a hairbrush, then threatened me over text in an attempt to scare me out of disputing the charges because she knew she messed up. For the record, she bleached my hair under high heat for over 25 minutes to a "banana yellow", just to claim she slow lifted my hair and there was no way my hair was as damaged as I was claiming. Other professionals I spoke to, even at a different salon, agreed that at least a partial refund was the right thing to do, and so was disputing the charges if Mary refused to refund me. I cannot in good faith leave my experience with this woman unshared, if it can prevent someone else the anxiety and displeasure of dealing with her. ***HOWEVER—Whitney is truly an incredible person. When I reached out to her regarding my situation, she showed me nothing but kindness and did her absolute best to remedy the situation. She gave me a deep conditioning hair mask for my hair to help with the damage that Mary caused. It helped. She encouraged me to return to the salon and see Celene, who took time out of her schedule to fix my hair for free, even though it was not her mistake. I have been getting my hair cut at Whitney’s for the last four years and have ALWAYS recommended this salon to friends and colleagues. I will continue to do so, because Whitney is an outstanding person and made sure the situation was remedied. Celene, on her part, made sure to explain how she was going to fix my hair and was absolutely amazing to me the whole time. I really thought there was no way my hair could possibly turn out well after how badly Mary bleached and colored it. I was wrong. Celene is truly a talented professional that puts her clients first, and I will continue to return to this establishment in spite of what happened. ASK FOR CELENE FOR COLOR! I cannot thank both of these beautiful ladies enough for their kindness!!
A great place to get a hair cut. I just walked in (which are welcomed ) and there were stylists waiting and on standby for you to choose from. Very nice and courteous. "KIKA" a hairstylist that's been cutting for a decade who I recommend you pick when you come.. she was so professional and skilled in her craft did an amazing job! I'll most definitely be coming back! Thank you KIKA
I debated writing a review but I figure if this helps someone it’s worth it. When you walk in no one is at the front, which I understood because it was the day before Easter. But when the hairstylist came to the front to look at the sign in clip board she kicked back in the chair with her foot on the wall and stayed looking at the clip board as she called my name. I asked for just a simple cut since I’m a new mom and my hair was just too long. She asked if I wanted my face framed so I said yes and she offered long layers and I agreed. She got to cutting really fast and I just figured she was just so used to cutting hair. Well she kept cutting shorter and shorter at the front of my hair. She said "don’t worry I’m not going short just fixing the front". Well this is what I ended with. I think she could tell I wasn’t too happy with how short it looked because she said "it’s still long enough to put up" but before I left I tried to put my hair in a clip and the bob part of what she hacked off fell out of the clip. She asked if it was okay that it didn’t stay put up and I said there isn’t anything we can do about it now. I would not recommend this place.
my boyfriend went for the first time to haircuts at Whitney’s on monday and got a haircut by whitney herself. if you know us, haircuts make us nervous because nobody ever listens to "just a trim"….but whitney did listen. this is by far the best haircut he’s gotten so i’m giving credit where credit is due. he said he will be a regular customer from now on! thank you so much for listening and making him feel welcome!
Jo is has been great at remembering how I like my hair. I for sure enjoy being a regular here because of that and how nice Jo is to my partner and me! Pricing is pretty good too.
