Ben's Beauty Supply

Just came here for the first time, I called ahead and one of the associates (possibly Bens son) was kind to communicate the hours and requirements (you should wear a mask upon entering) (but they you can purchase as well, I believe it’s 2 dollars for a blue mask which is individually wrapped) Anyways, I was impressed with how stocked the shelves where and I believe the owner Ben was the one I engaged with when I had questions about Wig caps and he was kind enough to stop what he was doing to help me. Although the item I was looking for was not available in my size, he made sure to communicate that he will research and have it available on my return. It’s honestly the small things these small business owners do that bring customers coming back, Thank you Ben for your great service and know I will always support! Support your local businesses 🥰!

First, I am not a fan of the majority who own beauty supply stores in minority neighborhoods. This visit- like many others- left an unpleasant perception of how the the group preceives me and my group. I try to stay away from these places but due to convenience, I stopped by. The two staff members were not friendly. I asked a question about specific products but was met with a dry unknowledgeable response by the cashier. I walked the entire store two times before I was asked if i needed assistance by the person on the floor. During my turnabouts, I felt as though I was "watched" instead of helped or informed about products. I will not be visiting again.

Employees are helpful and I can find most products (not all) that I need, but the lighting is not good. When you’re trying to find the right tone of powder and/or foundation, (summer sun changing skin tone) once you try the product at home with better lighting. You discover it not right, it’s frustrating to say the least that you cannot exchanges the product, might as well go to Walmart.

I was looking to buy quite a few wigs. Since I don’t get much time to do this between work and family, I decided to go there after work. When I first entered the store, I was greeted by a younger man. I responded and asked for their wigs he directed me to the back of the store. Immediately, I saw an older man hurrying to catch up with me. I presumed he was coming to help me find what I needed. No he wasn’t. He was there to watch me. Presumably so I don’t steal? Well, I asked him if I could try on the wigs. He said it’ll cost $1 to buy a wig cap. Understandable. But you only have a limit of 3 wigs to try. Ok... so if I’m buying 6 wigs, I only get to try on 3? Then what do I do with the others if they don’t fit? What if the 3 don’t fit? It took a bit of restraint to walk out of that BS and drive back to Beaumont where they have a much larger selection and allow you to try until you find the one. I get policies to minimize abuse, but this is just ridiculous.

Products need updating, Owner didn't seem too concerned when I'd ask for a specific item...Hairstylist for 35+ years...Didn't get good Vibes with them...their loss! Cause I buy lots of good products for my Clients.

This store has an amazing selection of good brands. The owner is so nice and friendly. I will definitely come back!

This place is so dirty. It's disgusting, its always out of the products I need. The products they do have are always all over the place. Tip: hire some help staff to give the store some upkeep bc it's dirty& stinks and also keep the products up to stock.
