Monte's Just A Bite

10/10 sausage gravy, the best I've ever had - better than anywhere in the South. So much umami/depth of flavor, not too salty, perfect ratios. The staff has that southern charm and friendly like-family attitude. A real treat and feels like home. The environment is so cozy and wholesome. A real original mom and pop joint. The coffee is delicious, they brew it slow and keeps it balanced and not bitter. Chicken fried steak was out of this world. The pancakes are sweet and fluffy.

Monte's Just A Bite, is a little slice of pure heaven in the simplest form of expression in homemade dining ....! Absolutely no tricks no gimmicks just old fashion traditional food cooked and prepare to mouth watering perfection. For the first time in 5ys of traveling to Birch Bay we decided to try this place and we found out what we been missing in 5ys.....! Each and very time we even thought of trying this place, the lines and the wait has been incredible long. This time we where able to get in without any problems and it was definitely worth the wait....! This place is straight old school shoulder to shoulder dining if it's crowded, wooden chairs and benches you wouldn't know this from the outside. But don't let the smallest of this place fool you, the portion of the food is extremely large and over the top tasty. The pancakes 🥞 were a mixture of unspeakable pure sweetness and the waffles 🧇 completely out of this world dipped in goodness.. The sides were simply made to order season to perfection, there was enough food for four... Shawn was totally awesome, making our dining experience extra special from start to finish. He seemingly was the wearer of many hats as well (waiter cook, and customer service representative) all of those positions were done friendly and professionally. Thank you Shawn for taking care of us, you sir are definitely a great representative for this little slice of pure heaven.......🙏🏿

Great place with lovely local/old school charm. Price/portion relation is great, awesome food and cheerful/friendly service. Took two relatives visiting from Wisconsin and our 4-top all got different things. All the food was served piping hot, excellent quality, tasted amazing and didn't take long. Wifey poo loved the setting and the coffee as well. Highly recommended if you want a nice meal in a charming/cozy/old school location. There's dining seats at the bar or the interior tables... it's not too big of an area but that doesn't bother us. Ages when we were eating ranged from 5 months old to 80+ years old, with kids and folks in between. Not overly cramped, not overly loud... just a nice old school diner type atmosphere.

A local business owner recommended this place for Biscuits and Gravy, and he did not steer us wrong! Service was fast, and the owner and crew were a hoot! The food was delicious!!! My only regret was not enough room in my belly to try the pancakes! Atmosphere was fun, lots of things to check out and enjoy! Inside tables, a bar, outside seating, and containers for carry out! We planned to come back with another chunk of family, but we ran out of time! Next time, gentlemen!! Thank you, we will be back!!

Monte's has excellent Corned Beef Hash and Eggs Benedict. There is a lot of history on the walls. I love the atmosphere. The owner is a gem. Go get some breakfast! This is the place.

We stopped for breakfast here to/from BC, and it’s a great spot. Quick service, delicious breakfast food, and very friendly. Despite other reviews, this place does accept credit cards (other reviews mention cash-only, but that is no longer true). Will be stopping here again!!

Great food and great people working there! They made you feel like home even we had a dog with us. The best breakfast in Blaine.
